About Dave Suede

I can't tell you why I started this photoblog. All I know is I take photographs. Images might have some poignancy but more often than not it just a reflection of what I have seen when I was out or when I picked a camera up. What makes me take the next picture is the hope that I'll get take one great shot. The reality is a slow graph of improvement as I progress creatively and technically. Seeing the outstanding images produced on some of the great blogs out there has certainly driven me on to the delusional thought that I could be as good.

At the moment I live right smack in the middle of London. It would be great to see London transformed by the images that record it in the same way that New York's iconic stature has been delivered by film makers and photographers. I don't believe for a moment that it's going to me that captures London's great images but I do think London offers incredible perspectives which have not been seen in mainstream media.

The images here are shot on digital and film. Processing and cleaning scans means that more and more of the images are shot on digital but who cares what they were shot on if it's a good picture. I certainly don't miss cleaning the dust spots out of skies. Then again I loved processing black & white and watching the image appear just like you were in a spy movie.

Having looked around alot of people seem to think that processing the image in Photoshop is a great sin. Would you accept that the best print you can get from a negative is the one you get for a couple of quid in some newsagent. Photoshop is our darkroom. Get into it.

If you have any questions or comments I would be very pleased to hear from you. Just email me and I'll do by best to get back to you soon.
